2021 Mazda screen

By now everyone knows that distracted driving is about as “cool” as Capri pants for men. I mean, how was that even a thing? Anyway, the Mazda Connect Infotainment System lets you focus on what matters most: your hair. No. I’m just kidding. What matters most is your keeping your eyes on the road and not on your phone but your hair is a close second, though. That’s why, when you pair your smart-phone with your vehicle using Mazda Connect you can use many of your smart-phone’s functions through your vehicle. That means no more handling or looking at the phone while driving.

Power on the phone and ensure Bluetooth is ON. Just so you know pairing can only be performed while your Mazda is in park. Also the pairing process must be performed on screen and cannot be controlled by voice.

From the main screen, select COMMUNICATION. The hands-free system will notify you that no phones are connected and ask if you would like to connect a phone now. Touch “Connect”. Ensure Bluetooth is ON, and then touch “Add New Device”. The system will prompt you to search for MAZDA in your Bluetooth device.

Begin the pairing process on the phone. Just a little heads-up here. You may be asked to verify and acknowledge a 6 digit code on both the handset and system during the pairing process.

  • From your home screen navigate to “Settings”.
  • Select “Bluetooth” and of course, make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Search for the device you would like to pair with your Mazda from the “Devices” list, select it.
  • Confirm the correct pass-code or pin and select “Pair”
  • If your Mazda supports SMS select the paired device’s info icon and turn on “Show Notifications”.
  • Yep. You can now receive texts through your Mazda. Wicked cool, right!

And now let me be the first to congratulate you on the successful pairing of your Mazda and your phone. You can find more helpful tips like this on our website or you can always call us and we’ll be happy to help.

Remember, eyes on the road, OK?
